AIR are releasing a new movie score in February. They have done this before, remember movies like Lost in Translation and The Virgin Suicides? But this time it’s different. The movie we’re talking about is nearly 110 years old and was directed by French filmmaker Georges Méliès. Le Voyage Dans La Lune (A Trip to the Moon) was originally released in black/white, then in 1993 a previously unseen hand-colored version was discovered in Barcelona. The movie is about 16 minutes long and AIR were asked to write the score. They decided to make it a full-length. Enjoy this first piece of Le Voyage Dans La Lune, premiered on npr.
