Haleek Maul – Fraulein

Hallek Maul is a 15-year old rapper from Brooklyn and seems to be very obsessed with my language(German), his recent tracks are titled “Fraulein” and “Teufel“. I take that as a sign of great interest in language and maybe he’s tired of rapper’s who are repeating their meaningless lines for over 15 years by now. Actually I am and it’s great to see where HipHop’s moving in the last couple of months. It’s getting back to be a recognized form of expression. For his new track “Fraulein” Hallek Maul teamed up with found-footage genius Jamie Harley. Jamie used footage of the silent movie Lot in Sodom from 1933. A 23 minutes feature about the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. via

Wildlife is a five-pice from around Ontario and their goal is to make really fun songs with lots of pop, rock and catchy melodies. But I tell you it’s a wild life on Toronto’s streets. If your gang isn’t tough enough you’re going down the hard way. So many problems for Wildlife, happily their debut LP Strike Hard, Young Diamond is out and they have time to kick some rival gangs’ ass now.

Expensive Looks is the solo project by New York City based Alec Feld. He hates Nirvana cover bands, loves Nutella with bacon (fuckyeahnutellawithbacon!!!) and calls himself a psych-hop producer. Alec grew up in a big box of music. House, disco, old Motown stuff, psych records of his parents and even trashy 90′s dance. He put all those influences into nine songs and released his first full-length via Group Tightener. Dark Matters is available on CD and 500 red vinyl LPs.

A warm welcome back to the “classic love song”, I’ve missed you so much and oh well, I can still cry, get sentimental and lay my head on my shoulder, like always moves you, right? Revolver‘s “Still” is so classic and heartwarming and not kitchy at all. A perfect balancing act. “Still” is taken from the new album Let Go, out on March 12 in France and Spring 2012 in the rest of the world.

The video was put together by Samy La Famille using footage from Sexteen Candles by John Hughes. I still have a crush on Molly Ringwald.
